Flower Picking

Hey everyone it's Shelly here today with today's Sasayaki inspiration.

Did I tell you how much I adore these images and how beautiful they are to colour.  I chose to work with the fantastic Flower Picking digi for my card and she is available here.

After the dull and dark February days I thought it would be nice to see some brightness so I decided to go with some bright and zingy citrus colours to remind us that Spring is on the way soon.

My image is coloured with Copics to match my papers and I've matted all my layers onto bright orange cardstock to make them stand out a bit more.  I know there probably isn't such a thing as a pink and orange mushroom (or at least I've never seen one) but I love the fact that crafting gives you artistic licence to colour anything any way you like!

I've die cut various flowers and leaves and embellished the centres with adhesive pearls and added my sentiment to finish off.

We have a couple of challenges running at the moment, both on the blog and on the Facebook page so be sure to join in for your chance of winning some fab digis from the store.

Have a great day

Butterfly Garden

Hi Everyone I am back with another inspiration post for you, with the lovely image called

Butterfly Garden which can be found in the store by clicking on the name of the image.
Here is my card using the image.

For my card I basically stuck to a Chocolate Brown and Orange Theme, I have embossed the back panel and before putting it onto the card base I have glued in the border of Butterflies, which is a Joy Craft die. I have added some taffetta ribbon, and made my sentiment using the tag it set from Stampin up, which says Hello Friend. I have added aa few more butterflies onto the card, and the image, which was colored using copics, I also added a bow and 3 color dots in pumpkin pie.
Thanks for looking have a splendid day and until next time I hope you are enjoying all the posts from the Inspiration team.

Colourists Wanted!!! Filled!

Colourist spots have been filled.  Thank you all for your interest!

We are looking for 3 colorists to join our team to color up digis for previews in the Etsy store as well as sharing around on the blog/FB group and on social media.  For this spot, we are looking specifically for people who demonstrate a good and practiced skill in coloring using whatever medium you’re comfortable with (pens, pencils, you tell us!)

Please note that as a colorist, finished projects aren’t required, although we’d love to see what you do with it!!

Requirements:
  • Hand-color a minimum of 5 digis from each new release.  New releases are scheduled 2x a month, and will have 15 images in each release.  You will get the digis at least 2 weeks in advance, which should be plenty of time to color!
  • Take good quality photos or scans of your colored image and send them via email by the due date.
  • Please note that as a colorist, other DT duties like finished projects, commenting, etc., is not expected from you as we would like you to focus on coloring.

How to apply:
  • Email sasayakiglitter@outlook.com with
    • your name and location
    • a link to your blog + links to any other social media/galleries you will be sharing your coloring for Sasayaki Glitter
    • what medium(s) you most frequently use or are most confident using
    • 2-3 samples of your best coloring.  It can be finished projects, but please remember that we are focusing on the quality of your coloring and not your finished card

Thanks and we look forward to your work!  This call is open until all spots are filled!!

Flying Bunny Birthday

Hello glitter girls it's Shelly here with some Sasayaki inspiration for you.

Today I am showcasing the fabulous Flying Bunny digi which I have used to make a cute pink and grey birthday card.  She is available to buy here in the Etsy store, along with lots of other gorgeous digis that you won't be able to resist!

I'm a sucker for lots of layers on my cards and this is no exception so I sat and played with various bits of paper until I was happy with my layout before colouring my bunny in with Copics.  I've added some polka dots to the balloon with a white gel pen and then I've fussy cut her before mounting onto my card with foam pads for a bit of extra dimension.

I've die cut a couple of clouds from white glittery cardstock (although this doesn't show up very well on the photo) and added a button and some pearls and ribbon to embellish.

If you haven't already, join our Facebook Group here where we have monthly challenges and fab freebies.

That's all from me today, I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and a lovely weekend.

I've joined the Inspiration Team at Sasayaki Glitter!

I've just joined the Inspiration Team of Sasayaki Glitter and am looking forward to exploring her wonderful Digi Etsy store found HERE and finding all sorts of images to play with!
The image I used on this snowy card is called "So Cold" and is so appropriate for these past few days here in Illinois, cold, windy, snowy and blowy!  And yet, it's supposed to be in the 60's this weekend! Yep! Illinois!
After coloring her with copics, I used chunky white Frantage scattered over & surrounding her and piled at the bottom-I LOVE the look of this snow.  I trimmed the edge of the 2/3 cut front with glittered snowflakes and glued a Memory Die snowflake edge trim to the backside.  I've tried to open it a bit so you can see the overlay better.  So delicate!  On the inside, is a beautiful dark blue design paper with white swirls all over it-for sure snow!  Found a perfect Birthday sentiment to go along with it for the "lucky" people with those wintery special days!
Well be watching for additional posts that will showcase Images from this adorable site.  They will just inspire you!
